Toledo, Ohio (February, 2005) – From co-hosting a holiday home party this winter, and organizing an in-home expo, the Toledo Home Business Moms Expo debuted in the Sylvania Branch Public Library on March 5, 2005 and now moving to the SeaGate Convention Centre as the Founder gains national attention for her empowering power network principles.

A horrible car accident in July 2004 empowered one work at home mom to write a one-of-a-kind inspirational, multi-cultural and spiritual resource-guide in three-days while in bed. Ponn Sabra offers tips, tools and steps to empower women to create a power network so they will live a life of success every single day. Ponn’s Power Pun is “You must power network to build a power networkâ€Â. This theory is how Sabra helped her Mary Kay Consultant and close friend, Nacema ElOrra transform her holiday hostess party to a showcase of work at home women entrepreneurs to what is now known as the Toledo Home Business Moms Expo.
While still in active therapy, Sabra remained optimistic because her muscular and neurological problems were supposed to be healed within months. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare brain disorder called Arnold-Chiari Malformation (ACM) (less than one-percent of the overall population) the day before their public debut on March 5, 2005.
Without sharing her diagnosis with vendors, Sabra shared that she will not able to host another Expo this year. Instead, she recommended their attendance in the October full-day National Work At Home Moms Association (NWAHMA) Expo in the SeaGate Convention Centre. In an empowering pre-Expo orientation, Sabra considered this Expo a success and encouraged partnerships, sharing their success stories, and to have fun with their children. To support the work at home movement, children of the vendors were present.
Due to Sabra’s targeted marketing efforts, the attendees were all women interested in working at home, so the vendors were extremely pleased with the turn-out. A survey conducted that day also showed that vendors requested a quarterly Expo in different suburbs, and all respondents (vendors and attendees) chose these top three topics for free public workshops:
(1) how-to power network to grow their business,
(2) maximizing public relations to gain exposure for their business, and
(3) applying success principles.
To Sabra’s surprise, these principles are all described in her book, Empowering Women to Power Network ~ How-to Save Time, Earn More Money & Live a Life of Success by Building Quality Relationships Everywhere You Go.
By applying her own power network principles, NWAHMA’s CEO/Founding President Lynn Phelps states, “As a published writer and speaker myself, I admire your enthusiasm” as she sponsored Sabra as a featured speaker for a 2-hour workshop for her book. Phelps continues, “We expect Toledo to be a very successful show. We advertise during Oprah in most cases, use billboard placement, etc.” NWAHMA is also reviewing Sabra’s book to adopt it for the Work At Home Professionals Certification Program curiculum.
Sabra states, “I plan to empower myself against all my odds to survive for my girls. If not, I want women (especially work at home entrepreneurs) to see that they can live their present and future dreams now. With faith and sisterhood ~ I am. Being a Mom is the hardest yet most rewarding job in this world, and I will not let anything like ACM take this role or my life away from me!”
