Search Engine Optimization/SEO for Online Women Entrepreneurs Part 1
I honestly don’t know how many Parts this Search Engine Optimization/SEO Tips will have, but all I know is this is ALL that I am doing for the next (yikes) 6 days until the relaunch of this website/blog.
Therefore, I will share what’s on my table for the day, and as we implement the changes together…we can watch our traffic increase, our search engine rankings hit, stay, or remain high, and hopefully increase our Google PageRank(I’m starting at 4) and alexa ranking (I had none until Tuesday) in the process.
[Updated 3/10/07: Sweet Find! A free PageRank Predictor Tool. If you don’t know you’re PR, because you don’t have the Google Toolbar; then this tool will tell you where you are and where you’re going!]
Are you ready!?
Education and Implementation/Read and Do:
1.) 5 Steps to a perfectly optimized page
I do Step 1-3 well…
[Sidenote for Section 3. A free keyword search tool I use most frequently is at DigitialPoint.com .  ÂÂ
But,
Step 4 – Optimize your Pages
Meta tags? Oh geez, his advice:
In fact it should be done at then to save time.
Well, let’s work on this one together. As I put up my static pages, this is something I *have* to do. He recommends (I know) image tags when appropriate. Fortunately, the new site will be mainly text. So, hopefully this will be a little task.
Thanks Wendy & Neil Patel for recommending this plugin.
Step 5 – Write a compelling title tag
Rob states
it’s importance can not be over-emphasized.
This is because the title tag is the tag which is displayed in the SERP (Search Engine Results Page). It is the link that people click on, and also the tag which is generally read by the visitor before they decide to visit.
But, wait Don’t be too scared!
2.) Here’s a great article saying the opposing view of keyword-rich articles and webpages.
The cool things with blogs are:
- You can put your all your keywords and phrases tags on your template.
- You should have your target market — mine obviously are women entrepreneurs. Then, you write to them in your post. I don’t over-fill each post, though some recommend you should…that’s why I like Lisa’s High Ranking SEO Ramblings.
She talks in my tone, voice and mostly I appreciate her confident-authoritative manner. She shares *great* insights about “reciprocal” links. Oh…I can go on about this one…maybe that’s Part Two for SEO.
3.) The Budget Webmaster’s 6 Step Guide to Improving Existing Rankings in Google
Now, all these tips and tools are available for free: so w.e. (women entrepreneur) can afford…I’m doing a quick run and sadly we’re non-existent. I have to read this *very* carefully.
This is an area, I too will need some help from my SEO-chick.
Whatever details I find out, I’ll share, of course. Then, again…if you figure something out please share below.
4.) 20 Totally Easy Ways To Get People To Link To Your Web Site
Phew! I’m doing a ton of these things already (article directories, testimonials, advice), or implementing (free eproduct) them for the 15th.
There’s some really creative ones though! A contest link, a directory…hmm. Oh, I like this article a ton! The only exception would be joining a web ring. I never have and been recommended not too.
Please share below which ones you do, and which ones have worked the best.
I do a ton of these too…again, articles, viral marketing. I use local columns, and press releases to get me coverage in media with my domain name listed in place of running an ad…I’m too cheap. Why pay if I can get it for free?
So, that concludes today’s reading and implementation Search Engine Optimization/SEO for Online Women Entrepreneurs Part 1.
I’m really curious…was this ‘at’, ‘below’, or ‘above’ your reading and technical comprehension and implementation. I consider myself a computer dummy willing to learn and able to implement…all the real techy stuff I outsource since it gives me too much of a headache and I’d rather be writing my columns, blog posts, books, etc. just for you!
