According to Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), a bi-partisan women’s business group, their survey showed that:

• A majority of women entrepreneurs believe that businesses should not be the main provider of coverage. And, that W.E. (women entrepreneurs) should be able to shop for our best policies which would help reduce the large numbers of uninsured and under-insured Americans.

This is what I found as WIPP’s Policy Statement regarding this issue:

• Health Care
  The Health Care Choice Act (H.R. 2355)
  H.R. 2355, The Health Care Choice Act, sponsored by Representative John Shadegg (R-AZ), aims to bring down the cost of health insurance by allowing both small businesses and employees to compare individual insurance plans across state lines for the best price and choose a plan that best fits their medical needs.

No doubt we have to do something about our health care system, and since we’re frugal consumers, I can’t agree more! Time to empower public policy to help women entrepreneurs.
