[While I wasn’t in Corporate “private-enterprising” America, I was a government appointed public official. Nonetheless, the management experience helped me immensely in networking my freelance writing, and real estate business. Now, I’m bringing that experience online.]

Thank You, Big Business.
– I’m ready to start using my skills prior to pregnancy, of managing 11 Program Managers, 110 employees, $11 million general funds and $3 million grant funds. Strategic Planning, and Community Partnership was the success of our city, department and state.

  1. My only problem with Business Week’s program is that nominees must have been on the CEO track at their ‘big company.’

My first management job was in my own business when I left a staff job at IBM to start it. I grew it to multi-millions in revenues - does that not count to them?

I think you’ll agree that we don’t just want to empower SOME women…right!? Do you think we can we get the press to showcase a diverse set of accessible role models?

  2. Hi Julie.

    Thanks for the thought-provoking comment.

    1. I agree with you whole-heartedly! As I was alluding to in my post, I too would not be able to make the “cut” for BusinessWeek, as I was a government official. In my quick review of the 18 reviewed, I believe I managed possibly more money, employees and/or both than a few of them.

    2. I commend you for your efforts, and continued path to empower even more entrepreneurs to walk in our steps! Congrats on your upcoming book!

I look forward to sharing similar unique critiques, highlight opportunities, and empower women entpreneurs together!

    Please comment often ;-)
