Blogger vs. Internet Marketer–Where does Your Voice come from?
Gobala’s article Blogger vs. Internet Marketer, and its follow-up comments, up to mine, describes exactly how I see the primary differences between internet marketers and bloggers. Yes, his stats may be a bit off and hard to prove…but try to stick to his main points & hear me out on this one, please?
An internet marketer comes with a ‘purpose’ and a blogger stumbles on the platform ‘by accident’.
Which ever brought you and I here–I want to stress the need to see yourself first as an internet marketer, and utilize your blog as an internet marketing tool. There are exceptions to this rule, of course, but primarily the women entrepreneurs that stumble upon my site are not all bloggers and come to me with a ‘purpose’ and want to ‘network’ with me and other women entrepreneurs to build a relationship here on the internet…
So, why do you blog? — You ask.
I have a message to spread, a voice to share, business experience critical to help women entrepreneurs, and I utilize the blog as one platform to do accomplish this.
I came to blogging with a purpose–not by accident.
I came online as means to share my professional experiences in my personal woman-to-woman tone of voice. I came online to market my women’s empowerment powerful networking book. By applying my own networking principles, I catapulted my book to the best-seller’s list on its release date–and having a blog helped to brand me, my work and my “voice” online.
As an internet marketer, I have multiple streams of income…and I encourage others to do the same.
As you may know, I’m self-syndicating my Women Entrepreneurs’ Column–nationwide.
In my journey, I was asked to be a columnist or a blogger.
I said “columnist”.
I’m an author, columnist, writer, internet marketer…and in the mix I blog about my journey. Does that make me a blogger, or do I write a blog…hmm?
I market all my products and services on the internet–being my written voice.
I share–for that is who I am.
A blog is one means to share my voice–albeit, a very powerful platform to have my voice heard.
As you’ll see I still call EmpowerWomenNow.com as an “online resource center” which has a home page, blog, link directory and much more.
It’s not, however–a Blog.
I credit most of my online success to
(1) article submission and distribution,
(2) press release distribution,
(3) joint venture partners, and then
(4) this blog.
Having been offline for 11 months, I must admit that the professionalism and willingness to build quality joint venture partners directly through the blogosphere has stepped up *big* time! The networking opportunities via the blogosphere is huge and I encourage everyone willing and able to come online to start with a blog.
It’s cheap, easy, fun, powerful, and can put your voice-online practically immediately!
As with everything in life, this website and I, as a writer, evolve in time.
But, whatever product or service you have to offer online–you need to determine where your voice comes from.
I’m an author/writer–and to promote these products and services. I “market” who I am and what I do on the internet…I don’t “blog” who I am and what I do.
What about you?
For those who blogged by accident and now have a loyal following–please search around this blog/website for free tips, tools and resources to make products and services critical for your online business success. Information products are the best online method t get your feet wet.
